Catherine Whelan is the founder and director of Spa Beautiful, providing spa, beauty, and wellness treatments from a country house in the heart of Warrington. Catherine started the business in 2012, setting out to change the way people care for themselves, so that they can show up in their world with the best version of themselves.

With over 10 years of experience in providing quality spa treatments, Catherine was confident of the service she wanted to provide customers and the skills required to deliver the treatments.

However, she soon realised that for the business to grow she needed to take a step back from working in the business to spend more time planning for the future. If she didn’t do it, who would? She signed up to the Help to Grow: Management Course at Salford University Business School not knowing it would be a life- changing experience for her.

During the course Catherine discovered many strategies from the Help to Grow: Management Course that have been used to refresh the mission and vision for her business to communicate that to her team with clarity. The new leadership skills she has learnt have greatly improved her ability to lead her team with confidence.
