General

Manchester Central is an iconic venue in the heart of Manchester

Manchester Central is in the centre of the UK and easy to reach via Manchester’s extensive multi-modal transport network.

Head to the Exchange Foyer Entrance, which is located on street level, to the right of the forecourt.

If you are using the NCP carpark below the venue, using the escalators will bring you out into the triangular courtyard, cross the courtyard and take the steps or the ramp to take you down to the forecourt.

Once you enter the automatic doors, you will be greeted by a member of our team carrying out bag searches and then you can access the event spaces via the escalators or lift.

Is there parking and how much does it cost?

There is an NCP (National Car Park) directly below Manchester Central that is open 24 hours a day. It has 720 spaces including 18 disabled parking bays and there is direct access to Manchester Central by lift, stairs, and escalators.

Is there parking for bikes at Manchester Central?

There are bike stands on the main forecourt. The stands are for push-bikes only, not motorcycles.

Are there any attractions to visit after Women in Business and Tech Expo?

Is there a Prayer Room?

The prayer room can be accessed in the Exchange Lower Foyer.

Is there WiFi?

Manchester Central offers free WiFi to all our visitors.

Do you have a cloakroom at Manchester Central venue?

Yes, there is a cloakroom located in the Exchange Foyer

Is there any Security at Karren Brady’s Women in Business and Tech Expo Manchester?

Every visitor attending Women in Business and Tech Expo at Manchester Central may have their bags searched.

We recommend keeping bags and possessions to a minimum, to minimise the time it takes to search and gain access to the event. We suggest allowing some extra time for security checks.

Where could I go with my team for a drink or for dinner?

Do you have ATM/cash machine?

There is an ATM/cash machine in the Central Foyer. Alternatively, the closest banking facilities are: Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays, both situated on Mosley Street.

What happens if I require medical assistance?

There is an Event Safety Team on-site during the event as well as during build and breakdown.

 

 

 

How do I find a lost item during an event?

Manchester Central keeps lost property for two months. After this time, it is given to charity. If you have lost something at Manchester Central, call 0161 834 2700.

How do you accept deliveries?

Manchester Central has a dedicated loading bay at the side of the venue on Watson Street. All standard deliveries arrive here. Exhibitors can contact the Women in Business and Tech operations team (jessica@ellimanevents.co.uk) if they have a specific delivery for the event.

Accessibility

How accessible is Manchester Central?

Women in Business and Tech Expo Manchester is on the ground floor/street and can be accessed via the main entrance.

All our entrances are fully ramped and accessible. Once inside, events on the first floor can be accessed via stairs or lifts. There is plenty of space in the Exchange Auditorium for wheelchairs.

How easy is the access to Manchester Central?

The venue’s Exchange Foyer Entrance is accessible, sensor-activated and feature Paxton Intercoms for assistance from the Control Room if required.

For live events, onsite signage will direct you to the relevant entrance.

Can I bring my pet to the venue?

Only Assistance dogs are welcome at the venue.
