Beyond Sisterhood: The meaning of true Allyship

In the tech world, where female representation remains an uphill battle, allyship extends beyond just male allyship. We must ensure that we are all looking at ways we can support each other as women in tech and use our collective privilege to uplift and advocate for all marginalised groups.

This thought-provoking session will explore the meaning of true allyship, challenge attendees to broaden their perspectives and discuss how we can all become active allies for colleagues who may face challenges due to their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, or other underrepresented identities.

Through powerful storytelling and practical strategies, you’ll learn how to leverage your voice, influence, and resources to create a more inclusive and equitable tech ecosystem. We’ll delve into the critical roles of mentorship and sponsorship, examining how intentional advocacy can propel excluded individuals into leadership positions and foster a culture of true belonging.

Prepare to be inspired and equipped with actionable steps to become an ally who not only talks the talk but walks the walk, champions diversity and empowers every individual to be their authentic selves.
