Speaker profile

Gemma commissioned into the Royal Navy in 2008 as a Warfare Officer. She served in several different ships including HMS Brocklesby and deployed as part of a NATO Task force to Libya during the Arab Spring. As well as a deployment in HMS Pembroke to the Arabian Gulf, Gemma completed a 15 month Pashto language course and tour of Afghanistan as a Cultural Specialist. She left the Royal Navy after 11 years and joined Amazon as the Military Recruiter for UK Operations before moving up to lead the EU Military Recruitment team. After two years of recruiting hundreds of service leavers and veterans into the Amazon world of Logistics and Operations, Gemma made the move into Amazon Logistics, working on programs impacting Last Mile Logistics.
