Carole Noutary

Speaker profile

Carole leads the Substrate Development Team in the Core Consumable Development organization within Illumina R&D function. The team’s role is to apply polymer technology, surface chemistry and material science to develop new core components that enable new functionality and broaden applications for Illumina sequencing and genotyping platforms.

Prior to joining Illumina in 2017, Carole spent almost 20 years at Fujifilm leading the development of novel inkjet technologies and consumables.

After gaining her PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Bordeaux, Carole spent 3 years in Japan in post-doctoral positions that not only expanded her technical experience but also broadened her cultural awareness and education.

Outside of work, Carole enjoys being active and spends time outside whenever possible, whether this is walking, hiking, or cycling. Carole also tries to go back to her native Basque Country whenever possible to enjoy the sea, sun, and food!
